Decks

The deck, the centrepiece of the scooter on which the rider stands, is one of the key components of a freestyle scooter and should therefore be chosen with care. With a complete scooter you don't have the choice of course but if you have to buy the deck as a spare part you should consider it. What all decks for freestyle scooters have in common is the material. They are usually made of aluminium, so the scooters are lightweight, manoeuvrable and yet very stable. There are differences between the decks in terms of length and width. As the sport has developed in recent years, there are now also XXL decks for taller riders. When choosing a deck, the basic principle is that larger riders should buy a larger deck and smaller riders should choose a smaller deck. Since the deck is exposed to extreme conditions depending on its use, freestyle scooter decks do not have the folding mechanism known from a classic scooter. This is for the sake of stability and, ultimately, durability. Because: If there are no moving parts, nothing can break. Before you buy one of these decks, as with any freestyle scooter part, you should of course make sure that the other components like wheels, brakes and forks are compatible.
